What are Task Boxes in Special Education?
Task boxes are life in my room! They help build stamina, independence, and confidence, just to name a few reasons that I love them. Basically, it is a task that fits in a small box and everything that you need for the task is in the box. It is much more engaging for students because it is hands-on, rather than a boring worksheet. There are so many different ways that you can use them! Check out 8 different ways that I use task boxes in my special ed room! My favorite way to use them is probably during independent work stations!

What's Included in the 4 FREE Task Boxes?
1. ELA Task Box
This task is all about simple reading comprehension. Read short passages and answer who, what, and where questions using choices. Students will simply velcro the answer on.
2. Math Task Box
This task box is perfect for students who are working on identifying the 4 coins. They will match pictures of the coins to the words penny, nickel, dime quarter, and dollar.
3. Errorless Learning Task Box
Errorless learning is one of my favorite ways to build independence and confidence in students. They are simple tasks in which there is NO wrong answer! This set focuses on matching safety and community signs. It would be perfect to use before going out into the community on a CBI trip.
4. Life Skills Task Box
Life skills are my favorite to practice! We practice life skills in so many ways in our classroom. Task boxes are just one of the ways! This FREE task box is all about different word associations. For example: What picture would students match with a burger? French fries, of course!
