Description
ELA Task Boxes: Set one – Primary
Are you tired of boring worksheets! Looking for something new? Here are 16 Primary task boxes that are all related to the ELA standards, that can be used in small groups, independent centers, one on one instruction and take-home boxes for homework for that extra needed practice!! These tasks boxes, or task cards, help promote independent learning skills for early learners, gifted K-1 students, ELL students and Special needs or SPED teachers.
This resource can be used all school year. I have created these specifically with special needs students in mind, to provide proprioceptive feedback while learning new skills. Most of my students love the sensory input they get from using these task boxes.
These task boxes are fun and engaging and keep kids wanting to learn and practice skills over and over again. Each task is made to fit perfectly in a small photo box or a pencil storage box. There are enough in this resource to fill one-16 container photo boxes. I purchased mine at Michaels.

FAQ's: Frequently Asked Questions:
About how many cards come with each task box?
Each task box generally will come with 10-16 cards. There are some boxes that may only have 2 or 3 and those are your typical sorting and classifying boxes.
How do I prep these task boxes?
Each task box will need to be printed and laminated. I recommend printing on cardstock. Then add the matching Velcro pieces.
Do I have to laminate? If you would rather it be a cut and paste activity and would rather just print and use, you can do that as well.
Do I have to add Velcro after laminating?
You do not have to add Velcro, you could just use sticky tack or painters tape. I have found Velcro on amazon for very cheap.
What do I need for all the prep?
I would invest in a personal laminator (I got mine at Walmart on Black Friday for $17), laminating sheets, cardstock and Velcro. I also by my photo box storage container at Michael only during a sale.
Do you sell these already prepped and to be mailed to me?
I have thought about selling them on Etsy, but currently do not sell the physical resource at this point.
Will you be making any more task boxes?
YES! I have so many more ideas for these boxes. You can always email me ideas as well.
What level are these task boxes?
I typically create task boxes for students that are around preschool level all the way up to 3rd-grade level. I am still working on higher-level skills for more task box ideas.
Do you have a digital version of these cards? All of my task boxes are converted to Boom Cards™, I am currently working on turning them into Google Slides and interactive PDF’s.
