This resource includes five nonfiction passages with June-themed topics, along with structured writing supports such as graphic organizers, a paragraph-writing checklist, and a text-based rubric.

Each passage highlights four key vocabulary words, which are defined to enhance understanding. Additionally, a full-color mini-book with real images mirrors the passages, helping students build background knowledge and deepen comprehension.

Students will complete a graphic organizer (choosing from four versions, including a color option), use a word bank if needed, and follow a paragraph-writing checklist to ensure they include a topic sentence, three supporting details, and a conclusion while maintaining proper punctuation and grammar.

For added comprehension practice, exit tickets (four per page) provide targeted reading questions—three multiple-choice and one fill-in-the-blank—to assess understanding.
